Dr. Gregory’s Story Transcript

My name’s David Gregory. I lived in Atlanta for 35 years or so, Southside of Jonesboro and I lived in Petree City for a while, then I moved up to the north side. I had a successful career in education.
I was a classroom teacher in music. I talked elementary, junior high, high school, university, thousands of students. I had never had a single complaint of any kind whatsoever. Midway through the year that I have announced as my retirement year, a former student, uh, files sent you battery charges. A warrant was issued from an arrest and it completely turned my life upside down. Pretty much panic filled my life, my professional personal life. Not knowing anything about that world, not knowing anyone, not knowing what to do, not knowing where to turn. I asked a friend who practices his law on the south side of Atlanta.
She said, “if I were in your situation, if I were looking for someone to defend me, I would want Kim Frye to do that.” From the get go, she said, “our defense of you will be unrelenting, we will not stop.
You’re going to defend you against these charges. All the resources I have will be brought to bear on your behalf. We are gonna win this.”
What if I had a person of lesser dedication? What if I had a person that was not committed so desperately to defending her clients? That was not willing to stand in the breach and say, not on my watch, you’re not gonna take my client without a fierce battle for me.
From the first meeting until the final total resounding acquittal over those charges, Kim was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. She gave me back my life, she gave me back to my profession. I cannot thank her enough, and I could not recommend her more highly to those who might be looking for someone.
